Matthew Mendel, a lifelong resident of Orlando, Florida, began his musical journey at a very young age, encouraged by parents who brought him to see the likes of B.B. King at seven months old and Paul McCartney at age three.  At the age of five, he was picking up his father’s guitar and tapping on his grandfather’s piano.  By ten, Matthew had found the drums, and eventually began drumming in his middle school band.  He continued onto the high school band and was a successful drummer on his school’s state champion drumline and marching band.
           His junior year would mark the emergence of his first band, Somelife.  Matthew then began playing in hardcore/metal bands, making a mark on the scene, but eventually decided to return to his roots, rock ‘n’ roll.  He left the hard music behind and began playing with some psychedelic bands around town.  It wasn't until he met singer/songwriter Matt Butcher that things really started heating up.  Matthew was asked to join Butcher's band, The Revolvers, as pianist and back up vocalist.  Together they recorded a successful local record and opened for bands such as Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band and The Avett Brothers, but the band went on hiatus after a year and a half.  Matthew joined up with Orlando party rock sensation, Andy Matchett & The Minks, for about a year until a call came from Matt Butcher, heralding the return of The Revolvers.  Since reuniting, Matt Butcher & The Revolvers have played alongside Leon Russell and other great acts, like Dawes and Lone Hymnal.
      Matthew has recently ventured into the world of commercial music production.  His original compositions can be heard featured on advertisements for the township of Viera, Florida, the Orlando Ballet Company, and Health First orthopedics, just to name a few.
           Matthew’s involvement in a wide range of groups and genres continues today.  In February of 2011, Matthew began playing with the legendary Beatles Tribute act, The British Invasion, long featured at Disney’s Epcot, as John Lennon and Ringo Starr.  He can be heard lending his vocals to the debut album for up and coming act, Valley Young. He also plays drums for the 2011 and 2012 "King of The World" Elvis Tribute competition winner, Dwight Icenhower.  In June 2012, Matthew formed a group with old pals Andy Matchett and Shawn Bryant called The Continentals that pack a great punch of 50's rock authenticity.  Also in 2012, Matthew began playing drums in Universal Studios Orlando's Superstar Parade.

            In 2013, Matthew joined the company Howl at the Moon playing at their Orlando location and has since been recloated to Philadelphia to play at their top club in the company where he plays to packed out crowds with a line down the street every weekend night. He is also in the studio recording for YouTube and session work.
